I. John the Baptist Preaches of Jesus (vv. 1-12)

            A. Very modest means of living (v. 4)

                        1. Clothed in camels hair with leather belt

                        2. Food was locust and wild honey

            B. Preached in wilderness of Judea (v. 1)

            C. Preached a new message to the Jews (vv. 2,5-6,7-9,11a)

                        1. Message of repentance (vv. 2,8)

                        2. Necessity of baptism for repentance (vv. 6,11a)

                        3. Jews could not lean upon their lineage (vv. 7-9)

            D. Preached foretelling of the One to come & His Kingdom                (vv. 2-3,10-12)
