MATTHEW CHAPTER 21

1. (vv. 1-11)  What is significant about Jesus riding into Jerusalem on the donkey?  What particularly is significant about the donkey, what does it represent?  What does the term ‘hosanna’ mean? Why did the people decorate the pathway of Jesus?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. (vv.12-17) What did Jesus do when He arrived at the temple? Is this the only time we find Jesus doing this such thing? Why did the chief priests and scribes become angry?

 

 

 

 

 

 

3 (vv. 18-22) Have we seen anywhere else in Matthew where a tree was cut down for not bearing good fruit? What might this occurrence be foreshadowing?

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. (vv. 23-27) Why do the chief priest and elders want Jesus to tell where His authority comes from? How does Jesus counter their question?

 

 

 

 

5. (vv. 28-32) How will tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom before the chief priests and elders?

 

 

 

 

6. (vv. 33-46) Who is the landowner? Vinedressers?  Servants?  The son?  What then is the meaning behind this parable?
